Food Recommendations
FAQ: What options are there for food?
We do not offer food packages with our standard Baler tours, since there are plenty of places to eat at.
In-fact we recommend Baler as one of our “Food Trip” 🤤 tours since there are plenty of options from budget to high-end restaurants, and the accommodation that we use is walking distance to most food shops.
Alternatively, if you want to cook your own food, the beach front lodge that we use has its own kitchen and pantry which is free to use.
Note: Catereing can be organized for larger parties on request.

This town is rich in history and culture. In fact the 2008 movie “Baler” was based here. Starring Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales re-enacting the historical event of the “Siege of Baler” with the powerful love story of forbidden love between a mestizo soldier and a coy Filipina. ❤ 😊
Aside for the town’s rich history, it has recently become one of the surf capitals of North Luzon, attracting adrenaline soaked (or should I say stoked) surfers, skaters, and boarders alike.

Where is Baler and how long does it take to get there?
Manila to Baler can be anything from 4-6 hours drive depending on traffic, but it is very much worth it. Dont worry there are stops along the way and we depart the evening before your trip so that you can sleep through most of it.

Baler Tour Packages: Should I book a Private or Public Tour?
Public/Joiners Tours
Our Public/Joiners Baler Tour Packages are scheduled every Sat -Sun (2D1N) and Fri-Sat-Sun (3D2N) is the most economical way to travel on a budget, and meet new friends! We also schedule special trips during long weekends and public holidays.
For available dates, see Public/Joiners Tour Dates.
If you join one of these trips, this means that you will be joined with other groups and travelers in the van, accommodation and tour.
Private/Exclusive Tours
If you prefer to have your Baler Tour on a weekday to avoid the crowds or would enjoy the luxury of your own vehicle exclusively for your group, then a Private Tour is for you! For Private Tours and customized quotes, please message our Facebook Travel Advisers.

Had an amazing time with Primero Tours. The trip was super easy to book via Facebook and the helpful agents reply very quickly to any queries. Traveled to Baler, Bicol and spent the night camping on the beach in Calaguas, absolute paradise! Felt very comfortable with our driver Jun and tour guide, very accommodating and knowledgeable about the local areas we visited. One of my favourite trips being a visit to the volcano it Mayon, stunning sights! Accomodatian serves its purpose and the food was delicious! Traveling solo from England I always felt safe and had the chance to try lots of new foods I never even knew existed so the whole experience was a great adventure for me. I would highly recommend Primero and will definitely book them again in future 🙂

My family have visited the Philippines 3 times in the last few years and each time I have booked a tour with Primero. We’ve been to Ilocos, Sagada, Baler and La Union, and we have had so much fun. The trip is always well organized and hassle free, from booking until even after the trip (imagine your booking agent will even check how your trip was after!). I was surprised how well the guides and driver speak English and they are always so friendly and accommodating. We love visiting our family in the Philippines, and I’m sure this wont be the last time!
